10-bit H.265 MP4 imports, but the preview is black while audio still plays

One MP4 from a newer camera imports with duration and audio, but the picture is completely black. Ordinary H.264 MP4 files are fine. MediaInfo says this one is HEVC Main10. Does that point more to a decoder/profile problem than to corruption?

Yes. The container can parse correctly while the video stream uses a profile the editor cannot decode. HEVC Main10 support is separate from basic H.264, and hardware decode support depends on GPU generation and exact format.

Update the editor and GPU driver, then test hardware decoding both on and off. If software decode works but the hardware path is black, the GPU/driver path is the likely failure point.
