I like the idea of Active HDR for high-contrast travel scenes, but I do not want every clip to have a complicated color workflow.
What situations make a standard profile simpler or more predictable than HDR?

If the scene fits comfortably in a normal dynamic range and you need the fastest SDR turnaround, standard footage can be simpler.

I would choose the capture mode based on the final delivery and lighting, not because 'HDR' is automatically better. Mixing modes is fine if the editor handles the project consistently.
