For a short social clip, the vendor app can often stabilize, reframe and add stats quickly. A desktop editor is more flexible but slower to set up.
What is your cutoff for choosing one over the other?

If the story is one camera, one song and a few cuts, I stay in the camera app. Multiple cameras, custom graphics or careful color sends me to desktop.

That seems like a practical rule. I do not want to use a complex workflow just because it exists.
