For skiing I care less about one long recording and more about being ready all day. Cold weather, high resolution and frequent starts/stops make battery planning hard.
What is your practical approach for keeping footage organized and avoiding dead batteries right before the good run?

I rotate batteries and keep the spare warm rather than leaving everything exposed to the cold.

I also create a simple card/battery routine so I know which battery and storage set is fresh. Organization matters as much as nominal runtime on a long day.
