Should a route map rotate with heading or stay north-up?

I am designing a small route overlay for cycling footage. A rotating map feels dynamic but can be harder to read.

Which presentation do you prefer for action video?

North-up for long route context, heading-up for a short navigation-style overlay. I would not rotate a tiny map constantly unless direction is part of the story.

Agreed. A stable map is usually calmer, and you can use a separate heading arrow if you still need orientation.
