I like shooting the higher-resolution mode for reframing, but my travel laptop is much happier with 4K60.
Would you lower capture resolution for the whole trip or rely on proxies and keep the extra source resolution?

If storage and proxy generation are manageable, I would keep the higher-resolution source for shots where reframing matters.

But test the end-to-end time. A theoretically better source is not useful if every night of the trip becomes a two-hour proxy wait.
