I sometimes export a normal video from the vendor app and only later decide I want telemetry or another type of overlay.
Should I assume the exported file still contains everything from the original camera files?

No. Keep the original camera files and activity data. An exported delivery file should be treated as a rendered result, not as a metadata archive.

That is the safe assumption I needed. I will archive the source set separately from social/export versions.
