I have older action-camera footage plus ride data from years ago. The video is still useful, but I am rebuilding the edit in newer software.
What should I keep together so I have the best chance of restoring speed and route overlays?

Keep the original video, the original activity/telemetry files and any project/export files that show how they were aligned. Old metadata is much harder to reconstruct after one piece is lost.

VSDC's current GPS workflow can import several external telemetry formats, so older footage can still be useful if you retained the data track.
