I have external GPX tracks that begin a little before the camera recording. Manually sliding the telemetry until it looks right works, but it is slow for many clips.
Is the newer GPS-video synchronization workflow meant for this kind of offset?

Yes. VSDC 11.2 specifically expanded GPS/video synchronization and GPX handling. We will build a tutorial around a track that starts before the video so the benefit is easy to see.

That would solve one of my biggest annoyances with phone-recorded GPX tracks. A consistent sync step matters more than fancy gauges.
