360 footage spreads resolution over the entire sphere, so I am tempted to export at an enormous bitrate before upload.
At what point does a larger file stop producing a visible improvement after platform recompression?

There is a point of diminishing returns. I would run a short controlled upload test rather than extrapolating from local file size alone.

Also wait for the platform's highest-quality processing before comparing. Early playback can make a good upload look much worse.
